Cleaning Up Data Centre Construction

Washbox is pleased to announce that our work across the data centre construction sector continues to grow, with the new SYD03 data centre project by A.W. Edwards becoming the fourth data centre project where the company has chosen Washbox as its trade washout solution.
The repeat adoption is particularly significant in a sector where the long-term environmental impact of major infrastructure is under increasing scrutiny. While much of the focus on data centres is understandably placed on their operational energy and water consumption, responsible environmental management also begins during construction.
Trade washout is one of the many everyday site activities where better decisions can make a meaningful difference.
Large data centre projects bring together substantial numbers of painters, plasterers, tilers and other finishing trades, all of whom need to regularly wash tools and equipment. Traditionally, this can consume significant volumes of fresh water and create a difficult waste stream containing paint, plaster, compounds and other construction residues.
Washbox provides a dedicated closed-loop washout system that allows trades to clean their tools while recycling the washwater and capturing the resulting solid waste for appropriate disposal. Across the Washbox range, the underlying process is the same, with different systems offering either manual or automated operation to suit the requirements of the project.
For large and long-duration projects, small improvements in routine site practices can compound into substantial reductions in water use and wastewater generation over the course of construction.
